Bio
Ali is a Ph.D. candidate specializing in political methodology and American politics, with a focus on machine learning and deep learning applications in American Politics. Simultaneously, he is pursuing a master's degree in data science聽 (computer science track), where he is enhancing his computational skills. While he studies humans socially, biomedically, and environmentally with AI tools,聽 political data science remains his primary focus.

He has been working with Prof. Gill and Prof. Ryan T. Moore on political data science, Prof. Eisenstadt聽 on environmental policy and politics, and NIH-funded projects with the AU Department of Biology. Specifically, he has been serving as a Data Editor and Internal Reviewer for Prof. Gill, the Editor-in-Chief of The Political Analyst journal at Cambridge 青瓜视频 Press, and has worked with Prof. Moore on teaching assistantship for political data science courses, as well as debugging his "blockTools" package.

Ali's dissertation project, titled "Three Essays on AI and Political Behavior" (Chair: Jeff Gill), uses machine learning and deep learning techniques to advance survey research. He is also addressing poll errors for the presidential elections. Ali actively involved in presenting and chairing sessions at major political science conferences such as APSA, MPSA, and SPSA.


Ali teaches modules on Generalized Additive Models (GAMs) and AI applications in political science at the "Institute for Data Science and Big Data." He has served as a teaching assistant for over 12 courses across the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and quantitative courses in the School of Public Affairs. He is also a Graduate Fellow at the Center for Data Science.
