Bio
Ido Levy is a PhD candidate at the School of International Service and an associate fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy. His research examines how armed nonstate actors develop military capabilities. He focuses on jihadist groups, the Islamic State (ISIS) in particular, in the Middle East and Africa. His book, Soldiers of End-Times, analyzes how and why ISIS acquired conventional military capabilities and assesses its combat performance. Find it on Amazon via the link on the right of this page. Ido鈥檚 work has appeared in Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, Middle East Policy, Terrorism and Political Violence, Small Wars Journal, Modern War Institute, NBC, The Hill, and other Publications.

He holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown 青瓜视频 and a BA from IDC Herzliya. He is fluent in Hebrew and speaks Arabic at an advanced level.
