SPA Undergraduate Research Symposium

The 17th Annual SPA Undergraduate Research Symposium (UGRS)听provides a forum for undergraduate students to present their original scholarly and creative work before colleagues, friends, and faculty. A "Best of" Award will be determined and handed out for each session, which will include recognition at the annual SPA Awards Ceremony. The symposium was held Wednesday April 23rd, 2025, in Kerwin Hall. Timeframe is TBD. Abstract submissions will open in mid-February 2025. Categories include, but are not limited to, American Political Systems, The Intelligence Community and National Security both domestic and global, Domestic Policy Issues, the American Legal System, and Global Political Systems.

Past topics have included 鈥The Effect of Refundable Child Tax Credits on Maternal Employment: A Case Study Involving Vermont and New Hampshire鈥, 鈥淲hite Anxiety and January 6th: How State-Level Demographic Shifts Impact Twitter Statements from Republican Senators鈥, 鈥淧opulism and Democratic Backsliding Across Europe: A Comparative Analysis鈥, and 鈥淚nstagram鈥檚 Algorithmic Gender Bias and its Road to Extremism鈥.
