Daniel J. Myers was American 青瓜视频鈥檚 provost from January 2019 to June 2020. During his tenure, Myers played an important role in the implementation of AU鈥檚 strategic plan, enhanced the university鈥檚 research profile and helped set a new record for external funding, hired the institution鈥檚 first chief online officer to expand digital education opportunities, and supported the move of the School of Education to a stand-alone entity, among other accomplishments. During the spring 2020 COVID-19 response, he helped our faculty transition more than 2,000 classes online and supported our students with academic and technological services to facilitate online learning.

Before joining AU, Myers was provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Marquette 青瓜视频 and held an academic appointment as professor in the department of Social and Cultural Science. Prior to Marquette, Myers was vice president and associate provost for faculty affairs at the 青瓜视频 of Notre Dame.

Myers earned a doctorate and master鈥檚 degree in sociology from the 青瓜视频 of Wisconsin at Madison and a master鈥檚 in higher education and student affairs and a bachelor鈥檚 in political science from Ohio State 青瓜视频. He has written five books and co-authored or authored more than 30 peer-reviewed articles.
